We will be moving at the end of the month. Moving means packing. Packing means trolling FreeCycle, Craigslist and liquor store dumpsters for boxes. Then I have to organize things, put things in the boxes, deal with that horrible packing tape, blah blah blah.
So when I was standing in my craft room staring at the piles of scrap fabric I have, I decided that instead of finding a box, stuffing the box, taping up the box, moving the box, etc. etc. etc., it would be easier to just MAKE something from the scraps.
Enter my newest project, my stash-bashing patchwork skirt!

I’m calling it my Moving Skirt. Not because it will be helpful to move in, but because moving a skirt is easier than moving boxes of scraps of fabric.
I’m quite pleased with it. My favorite square combo is this area, with “sprinkle” scraps left from an apron and 3 different vintage bed sheets.

As always, the kitties were very helpful in the process.

great idea
Super cute!
