Plants Grow Best While Your Away

One of the downsides to having a small urban farm is that it is sometimes hard to get away. There are chickens to feed, plants to water, furry children to give love to, and countless weeds that need constant pulling.  But the past 3 days, I was lucky to be out of town wit a group of my girlfriends for a weekend away in Tahoe, while Matt stayed behind and looked after the homestead.

Going away for a few days, especially in Spring, is the best way to notice the changes and progress in your garden! When you see your plants each day, its sometimes hard to notice the subtle changes taking place before your very eyes.  Here are a few of the things that I observed after being away:
